For more than a decade, engine size has been at the heart of a drive to reduce weight, increase speed, save fuel, limit exhaust and improve reliability. After the application of turbocharger, the working temperature under the engine hood is getting higher and higher, so the use of silica gel in key parts is increasing. At present, silica gel seals and gaskets have been widely used in driving shaft, insert cover, oil pan, cooler water cover, car headlights, sliding roof, open roof, muffler joint seal, high, low temperature resistance, weather resistance connector and ventilator, etc.
Silicone's chemical properties of durability and best-in-class aging properties are especially well suited to automotive environments. LSR’s ability to maintain its mechanical properties in extreme temperatures (with thermal stability from -50 degrees C to 250 degrees C) make it ideal for exterior automotive components . Self-lubricating LSR material is ideal for automotive peripheral seals, single wire seals, and many other silicone seals and gaskets where lubricity is needed for ease of assembly.
